Fast-Response Sprinkler Repair Across Salt Lake County
A broken sprinkler emergency — a running valve, a burst line, a system stuck on — can waste 500–1,000 gallons of water in a few hours. Beyond the water bill, an uncontrolled irrigation failure can flood basements, erode landscaping, and saturate foundations. It needs to be stopped fast.
Russ Lundberg responds to emergency calls personally. You're not going on a contractor waiting list — you're getting the owner of the business at your property as quickly as possible. We service all brands and all system types across Sandy, Draper, South Jordan, West Jordan, Riverton, Herriman, Murray, and the rest of Salt Lake County.
Emergency Situations We Handle
- 🚨 Main line burst or rupture — water gushing constantly
- 🚨 Valve stuck open — zone running continuously
- 🚨 Controller malfunction — system running at wrong times
- 🚨 Underground break — soggy yard with no apparent source
- 🚨 Backflow preventer failure — water not stopping after shutoff
- 🚨 Head break flooding a zone
Do This Right Now
- Turn off your controller. Find the irrigation timer box (usually in the garage or utility area) and switch the system off. This stops new zones from activating.
- Shut off the main irrigation valve. Located outside near the backflow preventer, typically close to where the water line enters the house. Turn it clockwise to close.
- Call Russ immediately: 801.450.0198

What Causes Sprinkler Emergencies in Utah?
Utah's specific conditions create sprinkler failures that don't happen in other regions:
Freeze-Thaw Damage
Utah's cold winters freeze water left in irrigation lines, cracking PVC fittings, splitting valves, and bursting lateral lines. The damage is invisible until spring when the system first runs. A proper fall blow-out prevents this. Improperly winterized systems are the #1 cause of spring sprinkler emergencies across Salt Lake County.
Clay Soil Movement
Salt Lake County's expansive clay soil shifts significantly between wet and dry seasons — expanding when saturated, contracting and cracking when dry. This movement gradually pulls pipe joints apart at connection points. Underground line failures in Utah are frequently caused by soil movement rather than material defects.
Solenoid Valve Failure
Solenoid valves control individual irrigation zones. When the solenoid diaphragm hardens (accelerated by Utah's chlorinated water), it either stays open — flooding a zone — or stays closed, leaving a zone with no water. Stuck-open solenoid failure is the most common emergency call we receive across Salt Lake County.
